with friends like these who needs friends.

Another weekend in the books. More drunken times. I had my computer final on friday so afterwards I was definitely looking to unwind a lot (as opposed to other weekends when I just want to unwind a little).

Started out the night at my place as usual. Jay, Marian and Ray rolled out. After Ray got us faded off some lemondrops we met up with everyone else at Fleetwood (mac). I don't remember too much, but I know we got to cut the line (yay?) and I fell a few times (yay??). Afterwards I guess we started taking pictures in my lobby. Everyone crashed at my place (yay!).

Is that the nutcracker?

Lobby shots.

Saturday was a gloomy, rainy day (my favorite) so I stayed inside all day (literally). As in, I didn't breathe fresh air until Eric came over around 8:30pm. San Diego, breathe it in. The homie Kim was down from the OC/LA promoting a show at HOB. She invited me out to check out Snow Patrol and partake in the hosted bar. Unfortunately I forgot my camera so the pictures that follow were provided by her awesome entourage. The show was really fun as Eric and I politely took advantage of the open bar. Snow Patrol was pretty cool too. I recognized one song but besides that, the lead singer was cool and interacted with the crowd well. Oh, and we had dope seats in the balcony looking down onto the stage. We could even see their playlists taped to the floor.

In the battle of HOB v. Eric, HOB won. He hobbled off to collapse somewhere in a drunken mess as I continued to party with Kim and her entourage. We ended up at the Chee Chee Club, formerly a haven for prostitutes and crackheads. It's now under new management and they've cleaned the place up. I'm pretty excited to have another dive bar downtown.

Oh, and it looks like my articles of clothing made the rounds. I don't remember any of that.

See what I mean?

Uh huh.

Jason Schwartzman hung out.

Do or die, NY. Turns out Evan (guy to the left of me) grew up around 5 Towns in New York, where I'm originally from. We were talking about that shit all night. Small world.

You know my steez.

First Class

oldie but goody

Vans has released 2 series of fixed-gear inspired sneakers. Known as the "Cog & Chain Pack," the first series they used Authentic's and the second series has them using Era's.

just in case.

incase always seems to make really cool stuff. Clean product design that's also very functional, much like the Apple devices they make accessories for.

They're latest gizmo is the Power Slider. What does it do? Click the link for a video explaining. Now if only I had an iPhone to use one on...

Another day.

Saturday was a fairly eventful day, as far as uneventful days go. Eddie and Eric came over to start out the day and we rode our bikes up to Balboa Park for the annual December Nights (but during the day, go figure). We were there the night before too so apparently we're December Night fiends.

My bike. Work in progress.

What goes in an Indian Taco? Sadly, no one was brave enough to find out.

Wow! Philippines.

We eagerly awaited the opening of the International Spirits area. 21+. Eddie was boring and went with a beer. Eric and I tried some hot cocoa with rum. Yum.

Not to be confused with National Spirits.

After Balboa we rode home to get ready for the nights festivities. The homie Jorel had a Potluck Pacquiao Party. A bunch of the homies were there and they all enjoyed the bomb mac n cheese (it was a hit!) I made. If you don't already know, Manny won. Clearly. The drinks were flowing during the fight, as were the punches to Oscar's face. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I suck at bringing my camera. Still getting used to all this.

After the fight, Eric and I cruised over to Ken Cinema for the Macaframa movie premier. We met up with the homies Anthony and John.

Thanks to Velo Cult for putting it on for free. It's a really cool flick. Pretty neat that there's professional quality fixie movies coming out a la skate vids of the 90s, as opposed to crappy YouTube vids of kids doin trackstands in their driveways. After the movie the 4 of us were amped up so we cruised to a nearby parking structure to trick out, even though it was like 1:30am. Unfortunately I only have these 3 horrible pictures to show for it. I fail at picture taking. I promise I'll get better.

We ended up cruising home around 3:30am and finished the night off with some breakfast burritos. Yum x 2.
